My grandmother’s house is located on the West coast of Florida. It’s a lovely Florida beach home, just a bike ride to the beach. It’s complete with a swimming pool, outdoor shower and plenty of places to shake off sand. Since I can remember my grandparents have always had a deep connection to the gulf coast.
My life has never been short of beach themed bathrooms. Coastal bathrooms, small or large, bring a sense of ease and luxury; simply because I associate them with vacations and relaxation.
Any bathroom can be coastal. In fact, it’s probably the one place in the house, no matter where you live (Alaska or Hawaii), that can be decked out in mini beach umbrellas, surfboards and starfish without seeming odd. One of the best ways to add friendly ambiance to a half bath or guest bathroom is to make it coastal, even in a non-coastal home.
While “coastal” is a specific theme, there are distinct divisions within this broad theme like nautical, summer beach, coral reef or a whimsical mermaid theme. The design differences can range in color scheme, style and decor. For example, a nautical bathroom seeks navy blue and white, while a tropical bathroom seeks out green, turquoise and coral.
In order to avoid falling into the trap of a cliché coastal bathroom, it’s important to study a variety of designs and styles, ones that can be modified or combined. One tiny starfish or royal blue bathroom cabinet might inspire the whole design of your bathroom.

In addition to summarizing information beautifully, the infographic is a place to insert subtle but important messages about the writing process. Small but highly supportive messages can be integrated throughout the informative image. Similar to […]
